Library Lane Press (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates librarylanepress.online (the “Site”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Library Lane Press is a small independent publisher based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at hello@librarylanepress.online with any question about this policy or your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly: your name, email address, and billing/shipping details when you place an order; your email address if you sign up for our newsletter; and any information you include in a message you send us.
Information collected automatically: like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to keep the shopping cart working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site through Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit). This includes standard technical data such as your browser type, device type, approximate location, and the pages you visit.
Payment information: purchases are processed through WooCommerce and our payment processor. We do not store your full card details on our servers — that information is handled directly by the payment processor.
How we use your information
- To process and fulfill orders, including delivering digital downloads and confirming purchases
- To respond to questions or support requests you send us
- To send our newsletter, only if you’ve opted in, using MailPoet — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email
- To understand how people use the Site so we can improve it (via Google Analytics)
- To meet legal and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them for essential site functions (like keeping items in your cart) and, with Google Analytics, to see aggregate trends in how visitors use the Site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site — like checkout — may not work properly without them.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Site and fulfill orders: our hosting provider (Hostinger), our payment processor, Google (Analytics/Site Kit), and MailPoet (for newsletter delivery, only for subscribers who opted in). Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policy and only for the purpose of providing their service to us.
How long we keep information
We keep order information for as long as needed for accounting and legal purposes. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. Newsletter subscriber information is kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To make a request, email hello@librarylanepress.online.
Children’s privacy
While some of our books are written for children, the Site itself is intended for use by adults making purchases. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
